Andrew Lewis | General Manager

Andrew led the start-up, Sensoptics to develop the world-leading fiber optic sensing technology that is at the heart of the OptaSense product line. He has 29 years' experience in electronic design and 20 years in business management. He has 9 patents and multiple publications. Previously he spent 6 years as director of a world-class electronics design & manufacturing operation, eventually having P&L responsibility for the $100m business. His first experience with fiber optic sensing was at Rolls-Royce in the 1980s where he was an instrumentation engineer. As Managing Director of the OptaSense's Centre of Excellence he is responsible for research, new product development and manufacture of DAS hardware, including Redfern Integrated Optics.

Lew Stolpner | VP Technology and Product Management

Lew has more than 30 years of R&D, product engineering, business development and business management experience in the optoelectronics, leading development and commercialization of the advanced products and technologies. Over the past 8 years with Redfern Integrated Optics, he led technology development and business development of novel narrow linewidth lasers for optical sensing and metrology. He has 5 patents and multiple publications. Previously co-founder of K2Optronics (hybrid laser company, acquired by EMCORE), Director of Engineering at Tyco/AMP, also worked at engineering and management positions at PhotoVac Technology, DuPont de Nemours. He has M.Sc. in Applied Physics from Vilnius University, Lithuania.

Dr. Georgios Margaritis | VP Engineering and Operations

Georgios has 20 years of experience in developing and manufacturing high technology products. Over the past four years, with Redfern Integrated Optics, he led engineering, qualification and manufacturing of novel lasers for optical sensing and metrology. Previously at K2Optronics (acquired by Emcore) developing and qualifying external cavity lasers for Telecom applications and with Margaritis Engineering, developing Free Space Optics Systems. He started his career with Hewlett-Packard, developing novel electronic manufacturing methods, and with VLSI Technology (acquired by Philips Semiconductors) developing novel semiconductor packaging solutions. Georgios has a Ph.D. in Materials Science & Engineering from MIT.
